Exploring for the Future integration workshop and data release

Geoscience Australia in collaboration with Northern Territory Geological Survey is hosting a day-long, hands-on showcase and integration workshop on new datasets acquired over the Tennant Creek – Mount Isa region under the Exploring for the Future program. New datasets released at the workshop include remotely sensed mineral maps, gravity grids and IOCG mineral potential assessment. Participants can BYO laptop for upload and integration of new datasets in a 3D environment.

Northern Territory exploration activity approvals

The Department of Primary Industry and Resources is the regulator for mining activities, including exploration in the Northern Territory. There are a number of changes to the approvals process that have occurred or been foreshadowed in recent months. This includes changes to Mining Management Plans and land access arrangement requirements.

This facilitated workshop will provide an opportunity for industry stakeholders and key department representatives from the Mines Division, to discuss the current approval requirements and processes, and to share knowledge of what is working and possible areas for further improvements.
