Registration open for Million Dollar Fish season 3

The Northern Territory’s famous Million Dollar Fish competition will be back this year for a third season.

Territorian and visiting fishers will again have the opportunity to catch the elusive million dollar barramundi and 100 other barramundi worth $10,000 each.

There is also $91,000 worth of prizes available to be won just by registering.

The competition will run from 1 October 2017 to 28 February 2018 and participants must register online at milliondollarfish.com.au

The 101 tagged barra will be released at popular fishing spots across the Top End including Kakadu, Katherine, the Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land regions.

The Department of Primary Industry and Resources Fisheries Division reminds fishers that it’s important to always be safety conscious and follow all fishing guidelines and bag limits while out on the water.

The free NT Fishing Mate smart phone app is a great tool that helps fishers access up-to-date fishing rules and information on their phones.

The NT Fisheries Facebook page also has information about fishing in the NT and tips on.

Information on crocodile safety is available on the NT.GOV.AU website.
