Kriol and Yolngu Matha audio available for citrus canker

Audio fact sheets on citrus canker, a contagious bacterial disease which affects all citrus plants, are now available in Kriol and Yolngu Matha.

Radio messages in these languages will also be broadcast on Aboriginal community stations in the coming weeks.

Citrus canker will not affect people, animals or other non-citrus plants, but if it’s allowed to spread it will affect the Territory and Australia’s citrus industry and growers.

The Department of Primary Industry and Resources is asking all Territorians to help us eradicate this serious citrus disease. Biosecurity is everybody’s responsibility.
