Apply now for animal welfare grants

There is one week remaining for Northern Territory (NT) organisations to apply for the 2018-19 Animal Welfare Fund grant program.

Small grants of up to $10,000 and large grants of up to $50,000 are available for projects that:

  • Improve animal wellbeing
  • Raise community awareness of animal welfare responsibilities
  • Help promote and improve animal management practice, particularly in remote communities.

Previous grant recipient, the Kunapa Kari Aboriginal Corporation developed an Animal Ownership Education Program to promote responsible pet ownership and provide subsidised veterinary services and a re-homing service within the Barkly region.

Collaborative recipients include Palmerston Men’s Shed and Darwin Wildlife Sanctuary who united to construct nesting boxes and offset veterinary costs associated with the rescue, recovery and rehabilitation of wildlife.

Organisations can apply by reading the guidelines on the Northern Territory Government website and submitting an application form by Friday 8 June 2018.
