Recreational Fishing grants opened

Applications are open for the new Recreational Fishing Grants Scheme.

The scheme is open to Territory-based, not-for-profit organisations and funding can be used for a range of projects, including educational programs, facilities such as shelters and fish-cleaning stations, habitat restoration and family fishing days.

It is a two-tier scheme with eligible organisations able to apply for funding up to $15,000 for smaller projects, or up to $100,000 for major initiatives.

One million dollars has been set aside for the Recreational Fishing Grants Scheme, with $500,000 available in both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years.

Applications are welcome from fishing clubs, councils, Traditional Owners, incorporated bodies and businesses.

Get your application in now, or keep an eye out for community projects funded by this new scheme.

Applications are open now and close on 29 July, 2018.

For more information on the scheme visit the Department of Primary Industry and Resources website.
