Last chance to apply for animal welfare grants

Animal welfare organisations are encouraged to jump online to submit their applications for the 2019-2020 Animal Welfare Fund grant program, with submissions closing this Friday 17 May.

Small grants of up to $10,000 and large grants of up to $50,000 are available to Northern Territory (NT) organisations delivering projects that:

  • improve animal wellbeing
  • raise community awareness of animal welfare responsibilities
  • help promote and improve animal management practice, particularly in remote communities.

Last year AusTurtle secured funds to raise community awareness of the new rehabilitation centre; encouraging members of the public to report sick and injured sea turtles for rescue, treatment, recuperation and release.

Organisations are also encouraged to partner with like-minded organisations and councils. In 2018, PAWS Darwin joined with City of Darwin and Litchfield Council to conduct free and low-cost desexing programs.

Please visit the GrantsNT website to read the 2019-2020 grant guidelines and submit an application.
