A new face in biosecurity

Biosecurity and Animal Welfare team members at Katherine Research Farm have welcomed Jetheth Lammon. Jetheth, known to co-workers as “Yeppy”, has joined the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries under the Indigenous Employment Program. The program runs for 20 weeks as participants complete an NT Government work placement and undertake a Certificate II in Business facilitated by Charles Darwin University. Once the program is completed participants will be offered an ongoing role with the NT Government.

Yeppy’s role with the Biosecurity and Animal Welfare team is to assist in conducting surveillance activities including assisting with fruit fly runs and the national surveillance program. Yeppy, 24, hails from Queensland and has a background working in a sugar mill and in civil construction. He has a Certificate III in Civil Construction but is looking forward to experiencing new things and a new line of work.
